Education

Maria Angela Motta received her Bachelor degree in Chemistry (Laurea Triennale) in 2014 and her Master degree in Chemistry (Laurea Magistrale) in 2017 from the University of Padova (Italy).

From October 2016 to September 2017, during her master thesis, she joined Bioorganic Chemistry Group at the Department of Chemical Sciences (Padova, Italy). In that period, she worked on the synthesis and polymerization of peptide-based acetylenes to generate peptide-based polyacetylenes and polydiacetylenes, under the supervision of Prof. Alessandro Moretto.

After graduating, she did a six-month internship at Mérieux Nutrisciences (Treviso, Italy). Then she worked at the same Company as chemical analyst until September 2019, performing chemical analyses and developing analytical methods on pharmaceutical matrices by means of ICP-OES and ICP-MS.

On November 2019, she has joined Polymat for her PhD studies under the supervision of Prof. Marcelo Calderón and Prof. Aitor Larrañaga.

Research

Maria Angela is currently working on a PhD research project at the interface between the research groups of Prof. Marcelo Calderón (Responsive Polymer Therapeutics Group) and Prof. Aitor Larrañaga (Group in Science and Engineering of Polymeric Biomaterials). The research project focuses on the development of polypeptide-based microreactors with the aim at promoting the cardiac repair after myocardial infarction
