Sustainable Catalysis
We develop green alternatives to traditional metal catalysts, driving more efficient and environmentally friendly chemical processes.
We investigate the use of biocatalysts and organocatalysts within the framework of sustainable chemistry, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of chemical processes. We design and fabricate enzyme-polymer hybrids, both as bioconjugates and enzymatic nanogels, which act as efficient and stable catalysts in chemical transformations, biosensing or energy production.
Organocatalysis also offers the possibility of replacing polluting metal catalysts in numerous polymerizations. Our work focuses on the development of organocatalysts for step-growth polymerizations and depolymerization processes.
