SCIENCE AND SOCIETY

Social dissemination of polymer science

At POLYMAT we promote the social dissemination of polymer science through initiatives that bring our work closer to the public.

Science outreach initiatives

Zientzia Astea

POLYMAT is participating in Science Week, organized by Elhuyar, with workshops, demonstrations, and talks open to the public. Our team is bringing polymer chemistry closer to the public through hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and scientific understanding.

School visits

Every year we welcome school groups to show them how research is conducted at a leading center for polymer science. The students visit our laboratories, interact with the research staff, and discover how science connects to their everyday lives.

Inspira STEAM

In collaboration with the University of Deusto, POLYMAT participates in this program that promotes scientific vocations among children through inspiring mentorship. Our research staff accompanies, guides, and shares role models to foster interest in science and technology.

Pint of Science

POLYMAT joins this international science outreach festival, bringing science to bars. Researchers explain their projects in a friendly and accessible way, creating an informal space to discuss scientific advances with the public.

Zientzia azoka

We support young people developing and presenting scientific projects at this fair organized by Elhuyar. Our team advises, evaluates, and actively participates to promote young talent and scientific culture in the Basque Country.

Emakumeak Zientzian

Since 2018, POLYMAT has been part of this initiative that raises the profile of women scientists and promotes equality in STEAM fields. We participate in activities, talks, and projects that showcase the key role of female researchers and provide role models for girls and young women.
