Kaja Kogal
Kaja Kogal earned her BSc in Chemistry in 2023 from the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of the University of Maribor, Slovenia. During her studies, she spent six months at Aalborg University, Denmark, as a part of the Erasmus+ Program.
In 2025, she finished her Double Master’s in Polymer Science program, obtaining two master diplomas: the MSc Chemistry and Polymers issued by the University of the Basque Country, Spain, and the MSc in Chemistry from the University of Bordeaux, France.
Kaja is currently pursuin and industrial PhD in a group of Prof. Ing. Thomas Schäfer, where she focuses on understanding, studying, and modelling the polyelectrolyte multilayers using non-invasive surface-sensitive techniques for membrane applications. She is also collaborating with company Surphase, using non-invasive rechnology that anticipates fouling detection from minute zero and allows real-time monitoring of membrane cleaning process.
