Hydrogen cells and electrolyzers
We develop new polymeric materials for the different stages of hydrogen technology, from green hydrogen production to its conversion into energy through fuel cells.
We investigate advanced polymeric materials for membrane-electrode assemblies (MEA) that optimize water electrolysis processes. We also develop polymers capable of storing hydrogen reversibly through mild chemical reactions, offering safe solutions for its storage.
Additionally, we design new proton exchange membranes based on protic polymers and organic ionic plastic crystals, with the aim of overcoming current temperature and humidity limitations in PEM fuel cells.
