Asier Panfilo Elechiguerra
Asier Panfilo graduated in Industrial Engineering in 2019 and completed the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering specializing in Product Design and Manufacturing in 2021 at the University of Basque Country.
During his bachelor of engineering (BE) he collaborated with TECNALIA on a project whose main objective was the development and optimization of the Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) technology. He was involved in this project till he ended his Master's Degree. Thanks to this collaboration he got an insight into metallographic characterization and mechanical property tests. After having finished his studies, he worked as a process engineer at ADDILAN company, where he could develop his engineering skills, such as programming or designing new WAAM machines.
In January 2023 he got a Basque Government PhD grant and he joined ZIBIO group in Polymat under the supervision of Dr. Jone Muñoz and Dr. Aitor Larrañaga.
Asier Panfilo is currently working on a PhD research project within the Science and Engineering of Polymeric Biomaterials research group. The research project focuses on the study of electroactive bioresorbable nanostructures with mechanical properties and modulated piezoelectricity for neural tissue regeneration.
