Carlos E. Villacis Segovia
Carlos Villacis Segovia was graduated in petrochemistry engineering from the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE in 2019. His final degree project was based on the application of the Taguchi experimental design in the extraction and purification of saponins from Chenopodium Quinoa Willd in order to obtain a natural surfactant. In 2021, he completed his master's degree in chemistry and polymers at the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU), developing different types of triblock copolymers based on Poly (diallyldimethylammonium chloride) for application as solid state polyelectrolytes in batteries with a fellowship program with POLYMAT.
Currently, he is performing a co-supervised doctoral thesis under the supervision of Dr. Irune Villaluenga from Polymat (UPV-EHU) and Dr. Andriy Kvasha from CIDETEC. His research interests are mainly focused on the development of new block copolymers used for the development of solid polyelectrolytes.
