Dr. Robert Aguirresarobe
Robert Aguirresarobe earned his BS, MS and PhD in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in Donostia-San Sebastián. During his PhD he focused his work in the synthesis of waterborne polyurethanes with self-healing characteristics. Afterwards, he joined the Rheology group of POLYMAT, working on the rheological characterization of dynamic polymers and additive manufacturing techniques. Since December 2019, he is assistant professor of the University of the Basque Country in Material Science.
He has received the KUTXA prize (2008) for the best marks in Chemistry in the Chemistry Faculty of San Sebastián.
Currently, its research is focused on the rheological implications additive manufacturing technologies (3D printing) and dynamic polymer structures. His research aims to model the flow and viscoelastic features of additive manufacturing technologies, providing methodologies to avoid trial and error in new material development. This model are currently being applied to the development materials for 3D printed scaffolds and pharma solutions.
