Dr. Eider Matxinandiarena
Eider Matxinandiarena received her BS in Chemistry obtaining a specialization in polymers in 2015, and her MS in Applied Chemistry and Polymeric Materials in 2016, from the University of Basque Country, getting her master's thesis in the department of Rheology.
She earned her PhD in Chemistry in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Alejandro Müller in the department of Polymers and Advanced Materials: Physics, Chemistry, and Technology. Her thesis was focused on the study of polymeric materials with multiple crystalline phases, in the study of the structure and crystallization of immiscible polymer blends and nanocomposites as well as multiple block copolymers. During the PhD she did an internship at Tulane University in New Orleans (Louisiana, USA) under the supervision of Prof. Julie Albert.
Currently, her main research interest is focused on the study of the structure-properties relationship of composites of magnetic particles ((recycled NdFeB)/biodegradable polymer), using biodegradable polyesters suitable for 3D printing. She is interested in the study of morphology, structure, and crystallization of biodegradable polymers.
