Leire Unanue earned her B.Sc in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in 2022. Later, she did a Double Master in Polymer Science (June 2023) from the University of the Basque Country and the Université de Bordeaux, obtaining a specialization in polymers. During her master thesis, she worked on the Nucleation and crystal growth of polythioethers using Polarized Light Optical Microscopy under the supervision of Prof. Agurtzane Múgica and Prof. Alejandro J. Müller.
She is currently doing her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Alejandro J. Müller and Prof. David Mecerreyes. Her work is focused in the use and morphological characterization of different block copolymers with single-ion polymeric nanoparticles as solid polymer electrolytes for lithium batteries.
