Julián Fuentes has obtained a bachelors degree and a masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) in 2017 and 2022, respectively. In January 2022, he joined the Centre for Biomaterial and Tissue Engineering (CBIT) at UPV to work on his master's thesis project. The study, conducted in collaboration with the Digestive Endoscopic Research Group of La Fe University Hospital in Valencia, focused on the development of a new medical device for the endoscopic treatment of digestive tract fistulae. In January 2023, Julián became a research fellow at CICECO - Aveiro Materials Institute, Aveiro University, within the i9rCB project, which centers on simulated moving bed chromatography (SMB).
Currently, Julián is a PhD student at COMPASS group at the University of Aveiro (Portugal) and at POLYMAT at the University of the Basque Country (Spain), funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks as part of the TheraTools project. His research is dedicated to human protein-based nanogels, with the aim of creating biomimetic delivery systems for anticancer antibodies.
