Andrea Cid
Andrea Cid Alonso obtained both her BSc in Chemistry (2024) and MSc in Chemistry and Polymers (2025) from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), having previously carried out summer internships (2023 and 2024) in the Innovative Polymers Group at POLYMAT. As part of her Master's thesis, directed by Prof. David Mecerreyes and Dr. Ilaria Abdel Aziz, she obtained a Global Training scholarship, thanks to which she performed a six-month researchinternship supervised by Dr. Ilaria Abdel Aziz and Dr. Antonio Dominguez-Alfaro at the Bioelectronics Laboratory led by Prof. George Malliaras, in the Engineering Department at the University of Cambridge. This research project was focused on improving the chemical adhesion of PEDOT-based materials for applications in implantable devices.
Andrea is currently a PhD student in the Innovative Polymers Group, where her research focuses on the photopolymerization of conducting polymers for 3D printed bioelectronics, under the supervision of Prof. David Mecerreyes and Dr. Ilaria Abdel Aziz.
