Ibai Zubillaga Nogueira
Ibai finished his degree in Chemistry at the Complutense University of Madrid in 2024. During his studies, he joined Prof. Maurizio Prato's group for 2 months in BiomaGUNE, where he first worked with carbon nanomaterials. He carried out his Bachelor's Thesis at Nazario Martín's group, on the synthesis of a molecular metal-chelating bilayer nanographene, a project which he preseted in the XL Biennial Meeting of the Royal Society of Chemistry. After that, he moved back to Donostia, where he obtained his Master's studies at EHU after presenting his Master's Thesis, carried out in Daniel Reta's research group on the preparation and reactivity of monoradical and diradical molecules through Single-Electron-Transfer processes. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Aurelio Mateo-Alonso's (Koke) group, in the preparation of molecular graphene nanoribbons, which brings him back to the carbon nanomaterial field.
