POLYMAT and EHU bring academia and industry together at the Workshop on Emulsion Polymerization Processes

From 7 to 11 September 2026, POLYMAT and the University of the Basque Country (EHU) held the Workshop on Emulsion Polymerization Processes at the Joxe Mari Korta Center in Donostia-San Sebastián.

Designed for scientists and engineers from academia and industry, the five-day program combined the fundamental scientific basis of emulsion polymerization with advanced research and industrial perspectives.

The sessions covered topics including polymerization kinetics, particle nucleation and colloidal stability; reactor engineering and control; process scale-up, safety and online monitoring; latex rheology and film formation in waterborne coatings; controlled radical polymerization in dispersed media; and biobased and degradable waterborne polymers.

The workshop provided an intensive learning environment and a valuable space for the exchange of knowledge and experience between academia and industry.
