Rheology and Advanced Manufacturing

Research

Our efforts in the field include advanced polymer 3D printing technologies, such as material extrusion, stereolithography or powder bed fusion, as well as electrospinning and hybrid concepts. Apart from that, we focus on the optimization and incorporation of new materials into industrially scalable technologies. The research relies on the fundamentals of Polymer Physics, including deep knowledge of Applied Rheology. Among the materials under study, biobased blends, stimuli-responsive and shape-memory systems, dynamic networks, gels and hydrogels, and carbon fiber-reinforced composites are worth highlighting. This vision of advanced manufacturing is supported by synthetic, theoretical, and applied research.
