New polymers for lithium and post-lithium battery technologies (Na, Zn, Mg, Ca) are being developed. Research aims at developing innovative polymers including ion conducting polymers or redox polymers. Most of the activities are centered around the solid polymer electrolytes for lithium metal solid state batteries. Furthermore, a new generation of polymer binders for sustainable battery production and recycling are being developed. The use of redox polymers in emerging battery technologies such as redox-flow and all-organic batteries will be investigated.
