Helia Rodríguez

Helia Rodríguez obtained her Bachelor's degree in Physics and Chemistry (2023) from the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour (UPPA, Anglet, France). She subsequently enrolled in the Double Master's Degree in Polymer Science jointly offered by the Université de Bordeaux (France) and the University of the Basque Country (EHU, Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain). During the first year of her Master's, she carried out, with honors, a research internship in the Sardon Lab at POLYMAT (2024) under the supervision of Dr. Gabriel Perli and Prof. Haritz Sardon. Her research focused on the circular biobased synthesis of carbon nanodots for agricultural applications. As part of her Master's thesis, Helia joined the Institut Parisien de Chimie Moléculaire (IPCM) at Sorbonne University (Campus Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France), where she worked under the supervision of Dr. Jutta Rieger and Dr. Lydia Sosa Vargas (2025). Her research was centered on the synthesis, self-assembly, and emissive properties of perylene-based amphiphilic copolymers in water. Helia is currently a PhD researcher in the NanoBioSeparations Group at POLYMAT under the supervision of Prof. Ing. Thomas Schäfer. Her research focuses on the development of DNA-based catalytic systems for industrial applications, with the aim of designing more sustainable and efficient catalytic processes.
