ChemBioVIII – GEQB-RSEQ Biennial Meeting 2026
ChemBioVIII – the VIII Biennial Meeting of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) Specialized Group in Biological Chemistry (GEQB) – will take place in Donostia–San Sebastián from April 27–29, 2026.
The meeting is co-organized by POLYMAT, the University of Deusto, and CIC biomaGUNE, bringing together leading institutions working at the interface of chemistry, biology, and advanced materials.
ChemBioVIII will gather researchers from across Spain and the international community to discuss recent advances in biological chemistry and related fields. The scientific program will cover areas such as structural and computational biology, nanobiotechnology and chemical tools in biology, biocatalysis and enzymatic chemistry, glycobiology, medicinal chemistry and therapy, as well as synthetic biology and biomaterials.
The conference will feature an outstanding group of keynote speakers, including Isabella Felli (CERM, Italy), Andreas Walther (Max Planck Institute Mainz, Germany), Daniel Bojar (University of Gothenburg, Sweden), María del Puerto Morales (ICMM-CSIC, Spain), Marc Güell (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Spain), and Gianni Ciofani (IIT, Italy).
In addition, invited speakers include Gonzalo Jiménez-Osés (CIC bioGUNE), Paula Navarro (University of Lausanne), Marcelo Calderón (POLYMAT), María Luisa Romero (IQAC-CSIC), June Ereño (CIC bioGUNE), Fernando López Gallego (CIC biomaGUNE), Vanesa Fernández Moreira (ISQH-CSIC), Carlos Romero Nieto (UCLM), and Silvia Hernández Ainsa (INMA-CSIC).
The meeting aims to provide a dynamic environment for scientific exchange, collaboration, and discussion across disciplines, while also offering strong visibility to early-career researchers.
Abstract submission will be open until February 28, 2026, and regular registration will be available until March 15, 2026.
