Carlos Villacis Successfully Defends His PhD Thesis at POLYMAT
On October 27th, 2025, Carlos Villacís Segovia successfully defended his PhD thesis, “Hybrid Polymer Electrolytes for High-Voltage Solid-State Lithium Metal Batteries,” at the Chemistry Faculty Auditorium.
Supervised by Dr. Irune Villaluenga (POLYMAT) and Dr. Andriy Kvasha (CIDETEC), Carlos’s research focuses on the development of hybrid polymer electrolytes to enhance the performance and safety of high-voltage solid-state lithium metal batteries. This research contributes to advancing next-generation energy storage technologies that are safer, more efficient, and suitable for high-energy applications.
His thesis defense was evaluated by a distinguished committee composed of Dr. Pilar Tiemblo (ICTP-CSIC) as President, Dr. Oihane Sanz (EHU) as Secretary, and Dr. Didier Devaux (LEPMI-CNRS) as Member.
POLYMAT congratulates Dr. Villacis Segovia for his outstanding research and valuable contributions to the field of polymer electrolytes and solid-state battery technologies.
