New developments in the design of high-precision graphene nanoribbons

Aurelio Mateo-Alonso, Ikerbasque researcher in POLYMAT and UPV/EHU is leading an international piece of collaborative work published in the prestigious journal Chem. 
The team of researchers from POLYMAT, the UPV/EHU, the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (Germany) and the University of Aveiro (Portugal) has developed a new method for synthesising graphene nano-ribbons that breaks all the marks of precision and length. This new method has combined complementary 2-nanometre nano-ribbons, like Lego pieces, to produce 36-nanometre nano-ribbons of full atomic precision.
