The main objective of the LION-HEARTED project, funded by the European Commission, is to develop a novel approach to promote cardiac repair by blending polymers, cardiology and light technologies.

The project plan is to challenge the current paradigm for curing the human cardiovascular system by designing a new implantable device, an optoceutic platform, capable of preserving, or at least restoring, the functions of the heart and blood vessels.
