A traveling exhibition on the total solar eclipse opens today in Zarautz, promoted by Jakindari, the Basque alliance for scientific culture. Over the next five months, it will visit 13 towns across Gipuzkoa, Bizkaia, and Araba, bringing the August 12 eclipse closer to the public through accessible scientific illustrations.

The initiative involves more than 20 organisations, including POLYMAT, and is accompanied by talks, workshops and observation activities for all audiences.

As part of its contribution, POLYMAT has developed a digital escape room inspired by the eclipse. This interactive experience will soon be available on the official website: eklipsea.euskadi.eus

The programme also includes Jakinaldia 2026, a public festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz celebrating one of the most significant astronomical events of recent years.
