On September 11th and 12th, 2025, Madrid hosted the First Meeting of Young Researchers in Rheology (JIRheo 2025 – https://jirheo25.eu/), a pioneering event organized by the Spanish Rheology Group (GER) to foster scientific exchange among early-career researchers.

The meeting brought together 48 participants, reflecting the enthusiasm of a growing community in rheology. The program included five high-profile keynote lectures and a wide range of presentations by young researchers, which highlighted the excellent scientific level of the new generation.

One of the most remarkable moments was the award for Best Oral Presentation, which went to PhD student Itziar Insua, recognizing the quality and impact of her research. The prize for Best Poster was awarded to Claudia Quintero. In addition, eight registration grants were provided to support young participants.

The event was made possible thanks to the support of TA Instruments/Waters, Anton Paar, and IFI Thermoscientific, as well as the Royal Spanish Societies of Physics and Chemistry and the Summer Courses of the University of the Basque Country (UIK).
