Emakumeak Zientzian at Passion for Knowledge

On the morning of 2 October 2026, Passion for Knowledge dedicated a session to mental health and well-being in research, focusing on the inequalities and challenges women face throughout their scientific careers. Organised in collaboration with Emakumeak Zientzian, the session had Mónica Moreno, from POLYMAT, among its organisers.

Psychiatrist and science communicator Rosa Molina opened the session with a clinical perspective on mental health. She then moderated a roundtable with researchers María Vallet-Regí and Susana Carregal, bringing together experiences from different generations and professional backgrounds.

The discussion explored the personal cost of pursuing a scientific career, the pressures researchers face and how their decisions are shaped by the surrounding context. An open exchange with the audience provided an opportunity to share experiences and concerns, highlighting the importance of considering well-being alongside professional achievements.
