POLYMAT and Ikerbasque Research Professor Alejandro J. Müller just published an invited Perspective article in the journal MACROMOLECULES featured on the cover of this prestigious publication of the American Chemical Society in the area of Polymer Science. The paper reviews and gives an outlook on the capacity of semi-crystalline polymers to “remember” their molecular conformations in the crystalline state when they are heated to temperatures just above their melting point and then recrystallize with significantly different morphology and properties.
