Sabrina Trano obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Rome, Sapienza, in 2017 and her Master’s degree in Energy and Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico of Turin in 2021. Following this, she served as a Research Fellow at Politecnico of Turin for 2 years. She then earned her PhD in Material Science and Technology in 2026 under the supervision of Prof. Federico Bella, focusing on electrochemistry for energy storage, with a specific emphasis on potassium batteries. Her doctoral thesis was titled “Laying stones on the path to K-ion batteries: crafting greener cell components”. During her years at the Politecnico, her research spanned the design, synthesis, and characterization of key components for both lithium and potassium batteries. Recognizing the immense impact that polymers can have on developing higher-performance and more sustainable energy storage solutions, she has recently joined POLYMAT team as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the innovative polymers group. In this role, she focuses on the study of redox polymers and electrolytes for next-generation batteries.
