Andrea Galan
I hold a degree in Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), where I later completed a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry. My academic training has focused on organic synthesis and the design of molecules with potential therapeutic applications, particularly in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.
I carried out both my Bachelor's Thesis and my Master's Thesis at the Institute of General Organic Chemistry (IQOG-CSIC), where I worked on the synthesis and characterization of new molecules aimed at the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. During this period, I gained experience in rational compound design, optimization of synthetic routes, and the use of advanced structural characterization techniques.
I am currently a recipient of a JAE Intro ICU 2025 fellowship, which allows me to undertake training placements across three different research groups, expanding my experience in various experimental approaches within organic chemistry and related fields.
