Claas Gebhardt
Claas Gebhardt obtained his Bachelor's (2021) and Master's degree (2025) in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rostock, Germany. For his Master's thesis, he investigated electrospun biopolymer scaffolds for renal cell culture as applications in bioartificial kidney devices. During his Master's studies, he spent a semester abroad at the University of Deusto in Bilbao. After completing his studies, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Cell Biology (University of Rostock) on a project in regenerative medicine. In December 2025, he began his PhD in Applied Chemistry and Polymers at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
Claas Gebhardt is currently working on a PhD research project within the groups "Multilayer and Soft Polymers for Biomedicine" at POLYMAT and "Hybrid Biofunctional Materials" at CIC biomaGUNE. The interdisciplinary project focuses on engineering multifunctional polymer capsules for lung cancer therapy and their evaluation in predictive in vitro models. He works under the supervision of Aitor Larrañaga (POLYMAT) and Dorleta Jiménez de Aberasturi (CIC biomaGUNE).
