POLYMAT and the Faculty of Chemistry open their labs to secondary school students

Lab Tours are organised jointly by POLYMAT and the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of the Basque Country (EHU). On 14 October, around 50 first-year Bachillerato students opened the 2026–27 season with a visit to our laboratories in the Korta building and the Faculty of Chemistry.

Guided by POLYMAT researchers, they discovered how polymers are synthesized, processed and characterized. They then played card games from POLYMAT Play to reinforce what they had learned.

This academic year, 18 lab tours are planned, with around 830 students from 4th-year ESO, Bachillerato and Vocational Training, plus 20 sessions in schools. In total, more than 1,000 students will take part.
