Amirreza Mansoori-Kermani
Amirreza Mansoori-Kermani obtained his BSc in Chemical Engineering at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 2017. Then, he became qualified to study Chemical-Biomedical Engineering at the Sharif University of Technology, the best engineering university in Iran. His MSc thesis project was the development of novel bioactive bone cement, of which the resultant paper was published in Ceramics International (2021 IF: 5.53). He also cooperated in other projects in their group to gain more experience in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
After finishing his MSc (2021), being excited and curious about nanomedicine, he collaborated on two drug delivery projects. In these collaborative projects, he grasped a great opportunity to learn new skills for him and publish two publications in this field. In the second collaboration, Amirreza and his colleagues developed functionalized niosomes as a targeted drug delivery system for breast cancer treatment. They published this research paper in Materials Today Bio (2021 IF: 10.76), which is a prestigious journal in the field.
In May 2023, he joined the Polymeric Multilayer Capsules group at POLYMAT.
Amirreza’s main research focus is developing multifunctional biomaterials for applications in drug delivery and regenerative medicine. Currently, the focus of his research is on the formulation of multifunctional polymeric capsules for glioblastoma treatment. He is working under the supervision of Dr. Aitor Larrañaga (POLYMAT) and Dr. Gianni Ciofani (Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia) as an MSCA doctoral candidate within the TheraTools project.
