Itziar Insua
Itziar Insua Castellanos obtained her BSc in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in July 2021. She did her bachelor project with under the supervision of Dr. Robert Aguirresarobe and Dra. Itxaso Calafel about the 3D printing of hydrogels for oral personalized medicine obtaining the maximum score with honours in the subject. After that, she did the Master in Chemistry and Polymers at the University of the Basque Country obtaining a specialization in polymers in 2022. The master thesis was a continuation of the investigation done in the Bachelor thesis regarding the 3D printing process of hydrogels and also obtained the maximum score possible.
Currently, she is doing the PhD under the supervision of Dra. Itxaso Calafel and Dra. Mercedes Fernández in Rheology and Advanced Manufacturing Group. Her research is focused on controlled release systems of amniotic membrane protein extract for regenerative medicine and the customization/optimization of these systems through additive manufacturing.
