Manoli Zubitur earned her BSc, MSc and PhD in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in Donostia-San Sebastián. She did postdoctoral research at Emulsion Polymers Institute (EPI) in Lehigh University (PA, USA) (2001-2002).She also possesses a BSc and MSc in Environmental Sciences from the Universidad Nacional a Distancia (UNED) and a Master degree in Higher Education by the same university. She is an associate professor in the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) at Donostia-San Sebastián since 2006. Her research has been focused on properties and characterization of semi-crystalline polymers, nanocomposites of polymers with clays and layered double hydroxides with interest in thermodegradative and flammability behavior. Her fields of interest include also the preparation and characterization of polymer based nanocomposites for controlled drug release.
