Dr. Guillem Seychal
Dr. Guillem Seychal hold a joint PhD degree on polymer chemistry from the University of Mons (Belgium) and from the University of the Basque Country. His background comes from mechanical engineering with a master degree obtained at the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Toulouse (France). His work focuses on the development of sustainable pathways for high performances materials in a circular economy.
His approach encompass the synthesis of recyclable biobased thermosets (covalent adaptable networks) to the end-of-life, and include material processes, material and mechanical characterizations. The aim is to obtained materials suitable for the requirements of fiber reinforced polymer materials and their demanding applications, in particular with natural fibers. His approach also utilize sustainable metrics such as Life Cycle Assessment to have a comprehensive overview of these materials.
