Álvaro del Castillo Corral

Alvaro del Castillo earned his B.Sc in Chemistry at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) in September 2021. He carried out his bachelor final project in Polymat (Polymerization Processes group) under the supervision of Prof. José M. Asua. During the summer of 2019 and 2020, he carried out internships in the Polymerization Processes Group. He got two M.Sc in Polymer Science from the University of Science and Technology in the Basque Country and the Université de Bordeaux, obtaining a specialization in polymers. During his master’s project, he studied the effect of the viscosity of the dispersed phase in the low-energy Phase Inversion Emulsification technique under the supervision of Prof. José M. Asua. Since September 2022, he is doing his PhD in Polymat under the supervision of Prof. Maria Paulis and Dr. Edurne Gonzalez. His research project is part of the Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) and it is focused on the development of epoxy hybrid latexes for waterborne anticorrosive coatings.
