26/10/2026

Organised by POLYMAT on behalf of the RSEQ, the Elhuyar–Goldschmidt Award Symposium celebrates Prof. Lotsch with a scientific programme bringing together research on optoelectronics, ionics, electrocatalysis and battery materials.

Prof. Lotsch, from the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, delivers the plenary lecture “Optoelectronics Meets Ionics: From Photo-Intercalation to Solar Batteries”.

The programme also features invited lectures by Prof. Sara Barja (EHU), presenting “Small Systems, Big Questions: Bridging Scales in Electrocatalysis”, and Prof. David Mecerreyes (POLYMAT), presenting “Ionic Polymers for Emerging Battery Technologies”.

The symposium is supported by the RSEQ, its Basque Country Territorial Section (STPAV), the joint RSEQ–RSEF Nanoscience and Molecular Materials Group (GENAM), the EHU Faculty of Chemistry and Ikerbasque.
