Education

Flore Kilens studied Chemistry at the European School of Chemistry, Polymers and Materials of Strasbourg (ECPM), France. She obtained a double Master's degree from the ECPM (University of Strasbourg) and the University of the Basque Country (UPV), Spain, in polymer science.

In 2021, she completed her master's thesis within the Catalysis and Sustainable Polymers research group of POLYMAT institute, under the supervision of Dr. Coralie Jehanno and Dr. Haritz Sardon.
Since September 2021, she has taken part in the EU-funded project NATURE as a PhD student, which involves the POLYMAT start-up POLYKEY POLYMERS, the UPV, and the University of Birmingham, UK.

Research

During her Master's thesis, Flore explored the use of acid-base mixtures as organocatalysts for the polycondensation of biobased polyether polyols.

Her current Ph.D research is focused on novel aromatic-like polyesters for food packaging, involving biobased monomers, sustainable polymerization, recycling and biodegradability. She is under the supervision of Dr. Coralie Jehanno, Dr. Haritz Sardon, and Prof. Andrew P. Dove.
