Education

Mehdi received his B.Sc. (2012-2016) and M.Sc. (2016-2018) degrees, awarded as the 1st ranked student in Polymer Engineering at the University of Tehran. During this time, he conducted research on the physical and mechanical properties of polymeric nanocomposites.

In 2019, he embarked on his Ph.D. journey at the University of the Basque Country, POLYMAT, under the guidance of Prof. Asua and Prof.
Leiza. Sponsored by Wacker Chemie AG, his research focused on developing novel redispersible emulsion powders for construction applications. This involved integrating more energy-efficient alternatives into existing industrial strategies, merging principles of stimuli-responsive emulsion polymers with production and application considerations. He successfully defended his thesis in 2023.

Research

Post-Ph.D., driven by a commitment to environmental sustainability and minimizing carbon footprint in our planet, Mehdi initiated a new project at POLYMAT. Funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain, this project centers on the synthesis of bio-based and bio-degradable polymers through emulsion polymerization.
