Education

Jon Larrañaga earned his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of the Basque
Country (EHU) in 2024. His Bachelor's Final Thesis, titled "Synthesis of Hypercrosslinked
Polymers in Dispersed Media," was completed under the supervision of Dr. Nicholas
Ballard.
In 2025, he obtained a Master's Degree in Chemistry and Polymers from the EHU,
specializing in polymers. His Master's Final Thesis, titled "Monitoring the Stability and
Properties of Poly(Styrene-Butyl Acrylate)-Epoxy Hybrids and Blends," was carried out
under the supervision of Dr. Edurne González.
Apart from his academic studies, Jon completed two summer internships in the
Polymerization Processes Group during 2023 and 2024, where he gained hands-on
experience in polymer synthesis and characterization.

Research

Since September 2025, Jon has been pursuing his PhD on innovative techniques for
processing polymer latexes, such as 3D printing and green electrospinning, under the
supervision of Dr. Miren Aguirre and Dr. Edurne González.
