Education

After a MSc performed in Bordeaux, France, on Chemistry and Physics, Dr. Coralie Jehanno joined the Innovative Polymers group in December 2015 as a Marie Curie Early Stage Fellow Researcher on the European project SUSPOL. Her PhD thesis was focused on the depolymerisation of commodity polymers and both experimental and computational investigations were performed on this topic in three different environments, in POLYMAT with the University of the Basque Country in Spain, under the supervision of Dr. Haritz Sardon and Dr. Fernando Ruipérez, in the University of Warwick (UK), under the supervision of Prof. Andrew Dove and in the IBM Almaden Research Center in San José, CA (USA), under the supervision of Dr. James Hedrick. She completed her doctoral thesis with more than 10 scientific publications and 1 registered patent in July 2019.

Research

Since the beginning of her post-doc in December 2019, Coralie is focused on different depolymerisation methodologies for common plastics recycling. Among her objectives are, exploring low-temperature depolymerisations using organocatalysis, computing complex degradation pathways for better understanding of recycling mechanisms and designing recyclable polymers following a circular-by-design fashion.
