Education

Hegoi Urretabizkaia earned his B. Sc. in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in July 2023, where his Bachelor thesis focused on the synthesis and characterization of polymeric Gemini Surfactants for anticorrosive applications, under the supervision of Prof. Haritz Sardon and Dr. Daniele Mantione.
He earned a Master´s Degree in Chemistry and Polymers at the University of Basque Country obtaining a specialization in polymers in July 2024. During his Master thesis, he worked on new polymers and synthetic methods for Anion Exchange Membranes (AEMs) for their application in alkaline environment water electrolysis. This project was carried out under the supervision of Prof. David Mecerreyes and Dr. Daniele Mantione

Research

Currently he is a PhD student at Polymat, focused on the synthesis and characterization of innovative polymers for hydrogen generation technologies under the supervision of Prof. David Mecerreyes.
