Education

María Valle earned her BS in Chemistry and her Master in Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry from the University Valladolid.
In 2015, she started her PhD at the same University, in the Asymmetric Synthesis group directed by then by Prof. Rafael Pedrosa, who was her Doctoral Thesis's supervisor, together with Prof. José María Andrés. During this time, she developed new homogeneous and supported chiral bifunctional catalysts (thioureas and squaramides) for the synthesis of diastereo- and enantiomerically pure compounds.
Later, she held a postdoctoral researcher position at the Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine, in Olomouc (Czech Republic). Here, she spent two years working on the synthesis of new molecules which allow the simultaneous detection of different enzymes.

From November 2020 she is working as a PostDoc at POLYMAT in the group of Dr. Haritz Sardon
