Education

Pablo Muñumer earned his B. Sc. in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country (UPV-EHU) in 2019. He completed his bachelor thesis at the Inorganic Chemistry Department at the Science and Technology Faculty, supervised by Dr. Garikoitz Beobide and Dr. Sonia Pérez-Yáñez. After that, he made an internship at CIC nanoGUNE in the Nanomaterials group, supervised by Prof. Mato Knez and Dr. Ana Beloqui. In July 2020, Pablo obtained his M. Sc. in New Materials from the UPV-EHU and the University of Cantabria, after carrying out his master thesis with a POLYMAT scholarship and under the supervision of Dr. Beloqui. In January 2021, Pablo obtained a PFPI predoctoral scholarship from the Basque Government to start his PhD at the Faculty of Chemistry (UPV-EHU) and the Responsive Polymer Therapeutics group in POLYMAT, under the supervision of Dr. Ana Beloqui and Dr. Marcelo Calderón.

Research

During his bachelor thesis, Pablo worked with metal-organic gels derived from MOFs for the preparation of aerogels. Later on, he moved to CIC nanoGUNE, where he started working with Single Enzyme Nanogels (SENs). During his master thesis, he kept up with SENs and worked on the coordination of these polymeric nanogels with metal cations. Now, his predoctoral studies focus on the bottom-up development of chemoenzymatic nanoreactors derived from SENs to perform efficient nanoconfined cascade catalytic reactions.
