Adrián Badía Rodrigo earned his BS in Chemistry from the University of Zaragoza in 2014.

During that period, in 2013, he spent one month in the Chemical Synthesis and Homogeneous Catalysis Institute (ISQCH), specifically in the Inorganic Molecular Architecture group, working in the synthesis of Rhodium and Iridium Metallacalixarenes. In that group he performed his final project degree about calixarene type coordination complexes of rhodium with nucleobases. This work led to a poster presented as the 2014 annual GEQO meeting.

In summer 2014 he moved to the Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona) to learn from the hand of Sergio Castillón group (SINTCARB) about carbohydrate chemistry, concretely focusing in o-glycosylation reactions between galactosyl derivatives for farmalogical purposes.

In 2015 he earned his master´s degree in Homogeneous Catalysis and Molecular Chemistry from the University of Zaragoza (ISQCH). His thesis work was focused in the synthesis of Metallacalixarenes using polydentate ligands and carboxylation reactions.

In summer 2015 he obtained the grant: Research and Practical Training Program in Taiwan from the ministry of science and technology of Taiwan. He spent almost three months in the National Taiwan University (Taipei) with the group of professor Shie-Ming Peng, working in the synthesis of Extended Metal Atom Chains (EMACs) with applications in nanoelectronics.

He joined POLYMAT in May 2016 as part of a project from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain being recipient of the F.P.I fellowship.

Since May 2016 he is a PhD Student at POLYMAT under supervision of Jose Ramón Leiza and Maria Jesús Barandiaran. His current research topics are related to the development of water-based adhesives with reduced environmental impact and degradability, focusing on bio-based fatty acids and carbohydrates.
