Satyajit Das earned his B.Sc. in Chemistry from Vidyasagar University in India in the year of 2011. Subsequently completed his Master degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry at Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute Technology Madras. During his master's, he works on developments of liquid crystal materials based on organic small molecules. Under the guidance of Prof. Edamana Prasad.

Thereafter, he moved to CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram to conduct his doctoral study under the supervision of Prof. Ayyappanpillai Ajayagosh in Photoscience and Photonics Section. During his Ph.D., he had a short stay as a visiting scholar in the Osaka Prefecture University, Japan, at Prof. Shigeyuki Yagi's research group. He has defended his thesis in February 2020 with a thesis entitled 'Photochemically and Thermally Controlled Physical Properties of Self-assembled p-Systems'.

Currently, he is associated with Prof. Aurelio Mateo-Alonso's research group as a postdoc from September 2020.


His current research interest is focused on preparation of p-conjugated wavy nanoribbon and study their self-assembly aspect.
