The Polymer Physics and Advanced Manufacturing group is devoted to understanding structure, morphology, functionality, and properties of multiphasic polymers with a special interest in semi-crystalline materials. It studies a wide diversity of multiphasic materials by designing and compounding blends, polymer blends nanocomposites (PBNANOs), nanocomposites, and bionanocomposites or by collaborating with different polymer synthesis groups that can prepare novel “a la carte” materials capable of providing insights on self-assembly, morphology, nucleation, crystallization, processing and physical properties. The processing-structure-properties relations are studied under the light of the different processing techniques available (extrusion, reactive extrusion, injection, compression molding, and 3D printing).
