Education

Dr. Sebastian Völker studied chemistry at the Julius-Maximilians University in Würzburg, Germany, where he received his diploma in chemistry in 2009. His diploma thesis, which was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr. C. Lambert, chair of physical organic chemistry at the department of organic chemistry, focused on the polymerization of squaraine dyes and their application in organic solar cells.

In the same group he proceeded to research on squaraines and investigated the electrochemical and both steady state and time-resolved spectroscopic properties of monomeric model compounds as well as homo- and copolymers. He received his doctoral degree in 2014.

Research

His current research focuses on the synthesis of new organic materials for their incorporation in perovskite-based solar cells as well as the modification of perovskites.
