Education

Sebastian M. Dron studied chemistry at the University of Hamburg where he received his bachelor degree in 2013. He achieved his bachelor by working on the validation of residual monomer analysis of styrene and butyl acrylate emulsions with gas chromatography at the institute for technical and macromolecular chemistry in the group of Prof. H.-U. Moritz. The research was part of the EU collaborative research project COOPOL (Control and Real-Time Optimisation of Intensive Polymerisation Processes). He continued his studiesat the University of Hamburg and got the Master of Chemistry in 2016. His master studies were a project in cooperation with the Synthomer plc, where he investigated the aspects of fouling during the continuous production of polymer seed particles in a taylor reactor.

Research

Since May 2016 Sebastian M. Dron has been working as a PhD student at Polymat under the supervision of Prof. María Paulis. His research is focused on the deeper understanding of film formation abilities of waterborne latex particles. The goal of his research is the improvement of these abilities for coating applications. His project is part of the Industrial Liaison Program (ILP).
