Education

She earned her BS Degree in Materials Engineering (Polymers) and her MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB) at Caracas, Venezuela (www.usb.ve).

She worked as research assistant in the Polymer Laboratory at the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research (Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas, IVIC).

Research

Her research has been focused on properties characterization of synthetic and biodegradable polymer nanocomposites with clays, carbon nanotubes and hydroxyapatite, with interest in mechanichal and thermodegradative behavior. Currently, she is doing her PhD at POLYMAT under the supervision of Prof. Alejandro Müller.

The aim of her research is the structure – properties relationship of multiphase crystalizable polymer materials: immiscible blends with nanoparticles and biodegradable block copolymers, with special emphasis on morphology and crystallization phenomenon.
