Janire Alkorta was awarded in 2013 with the degree of Chemistry with the specialization Polymers Science and Technology from UPV/EHU. She also finished her Master degree in New Materials offered by UPV/EHU in Bilbao– and University of Cantabria, UC in 2014. She did her Master thesis with a fellowship in BCMaterials and the research was focused on the microfabrication of thin film GMI elements inside a planar coil for off-diagonal and feedback operation.

Honors and awards

Nowadays, Janire Alkorta is working on the production of hydrophilic Macro-Chain Transfer Agents (macro-CTA) mediated aqueous emulsion polymerisation latexes. The objective of the study is to find new environmentally favourable coatings to reduce the adhesion of proteins, barnacles and algae.
