Education

Bertha T. Pérez earned her B.S. in Chemistry at the Faculty of Science Chemistry, University Autonomous of Coahuila (Coahuila, México) in 2011. For her bachelor thesis, she worked on synthesis of BaZrO3 and SrZrO3 using methods of green chemistry. She earned her M.S in Since and Chemistry Technology at the same University in 2014.

Her master thesis was focused on preparation of waterborne composites polymer/ functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), prepared by miniemulsion copolymerization of MMA/BA/HEMA in the presence of MWCNTs. Part of experimental work of her master's thesis was realized during three months stay at the POLYMAT institute (2013), working under supervision of Prof. Jose M. Asua and Prof. Radmila Tomovska.

After finishing the master studies, she realized six months research and training stay in the company Bioactive Ingredients S.A. de C.V. (México), working in the topics: Synthesis of CoQ10 Nanoparticles and Development of ibuprofen topic skin nanoparticles. Then, she spent eighteen months training in the company KAPPA CENTER OF KNOWLEDGE S.C. (México) in the department of management and administration of business projects and transfer of technology.

Research

Since March 2016 she is PhD Student at POLYMAT under scholarship from the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT-México). She works under the supervision of Prof. Radmila Tomovska and Prof. Jose Carlos de la Cal. Her research program is focused on the microwave initiated polymerization as powerful tool toward design of novel polymer and composite nanoparticles.
